How does the same crowd go from cheering "Hosanna" to "Crucify Him" in the matter of a few days? This Sunday we'll to begin to examine that very shift in demeanor take place with the Jews in John's gospel. The hearts of the Jews, the palm branches & the donkey contribute great significance in this triumphal entry into Jerusalem. This miraculous influence that Jesus displays was meant to draw man's attention to his upcoming crucifixion.
"A secret power of royal authority stirred up the minds of the multitude to receive Christ as a King." - Robert Rollock
We're going to cover some ground in John this Sunday at The Journey (John 12:12-30)! We invite you to join us in worship at 9:45am at Odyssey Theatres.
Questions we'll discuss in this upcoming sermon:
1. What do the palm branches specifically teach us about the intentions of the Jews?
2. What was Jesus trying to tell the Jews by riding in on a donkey?
3. How is the Son of Man glorified in this 'hour'?
Excited for Sunday,
