We're continuing our study of Revelation this Sunday with a look at the church in Smyrna.  Christians in this church were living in extreme persecution.  With their lives on the line each and every day Christians in Smyrna desperately needed encouragement and power to persevere in their faith amongst a hostile culture.

"The death and resurrection of Jesus mean that death has no power over him.  He is bigger than death itself, and given what the church in Smyrna faces, that reality is one they must keep in their minds if they are to be faithful."  -  James Hamilton Jr.

Revelation QuicklinkQuestions we'll discuss in this sermon (Revelation 2:8-11):

1.  What kind of persecution was the church at Smyrna facing?

2.  Who is doing the testing, God or Satan?  And Why?

3.  What is meant by the "10 days" of tribulation?
